Where Friendships Happen!
TRIP is a unique recreation program providing social and recreational opportunities to young people with developmental disabilities between the ages of 13 and 22.
Activities are planned for groups of one to three participants accompanied by a recreation coach and a teen mentor. Some activities may lead to larger groups. Activity choices are driven by the participants’ interests.
Past Activities Have Included
- Movie and dinner night
- Lunch and bowling
- Catching a Giants ballgame
- Ferry trip to San Francisco
- Hanging out at the arcade
- Miniature golf
- Farmer’s market
Benefits of TRIP
Participation in TRIP provides the opportunity for an integrated experience in new activities and new people. This can help to reduce the stress of social events and can increase self-confidence, comfort and social skills.
