James Shorter received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from University of California, Irvine, his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University, and his Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and before the U.S. Supreme Court. James has been the Director of two state agencies and three regional centers for people with developmental disabilities, including his former position as Executive Director of Golden Gate Regional Center in San Francisco.
James is our 2015 recipient of the Lifehouse Charles L. Martin Award.
James’ interests and expertise are in nonprofit board governance, labor-management relations, and building models and metrics for measuring performance.
